Heartfelt Plea to Patients

Dear Patients,

We are currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of unacceptable behaviour towards staff at the practice. Please do not shout or swear at any of our team, we are all doing our best to accommodate patients and keep everyone, patients and staff, safe.

We would like to say thank you to the majority of our patients who have been, and continue to be, supportive and understanding through this very difficult time.

We are constantly reviewing our services to adapt to the changing pressures within the NHS.

We have expanded our clinical team and, in addition to our GPs, we have employed a Physician’s Associate and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, who are able to deal with many acute illnesses.

Our admin staff may ask for brief details when booking an appointment. All of our staff are bound by NHS confidentiality so, please answer these so they can book you with the most appropriate member of the team.

We also have access to some external services that may be more appropriate to treat you, for example, the local eye service and local pharmacies. Or, if you need to be seen at the weekend or later in the evening, we can also offer appointments at the local extended access service.

We are seeing all patients whose conditions need a Face-to-Face appointment however, you may be offered a phone call initially. If the clinician feels that a face-to-face consultation is required, they will offer you an appointment to come into the surgery to be seen.

We understand it can be frustrating not to be able to get though on the phones or see a GP face-to-face/make an appointment and we are working hard to provide appointments which suit the needs of all patients.

Thank you

Management Team
